Menomonie High School students and staff filled this week with several culminating service and outreach activities including NHS giving to Positive Alternatives, the MHS Optimist Club being thanked for their blanket outreach, and MHS DECA at River Heights working w/ our younger students to name a few things. We made Denisha Sanders aware with her mother of her selection as the MHS winner of the $10,000 Kohl Initiative Scholarship. [Note my Grinch shirt:( I’ll make sure to have an extra shirt around in the future.] Tyra Boettcher scored her 1,000th point last Friday evening which is an amazing accomplishment for an equally great young lady! Mason Platter signed his national letter of intent to play football for the Wisconsin Badgers. The FCA held it’s annual pancake breakfast for any MHS student on Friday at 7 am and the Forensics Team is ready to kick off it’s season per usual with the annual holiday party Friday after school. Our Athletic Teams moved into their holiday tournament schedule with Home Hockey and Home Basketball later next week. Thursday Night was packed at MHS with the Annual Winter Choir Concert, an Alumni Swim Meet, and Boys Basketball. The MHS Staff Christmas party has become a great yearly event for staff. It’s fun to see and talk to everyone outside of the work environment. The MHS Band highlighted the last day before break with some great music!
Words from Mr. Stanley earlier this week that may live on forever …….’Becky’s Christmas Tree looks like a thousand Jelly-Fish floating on the tree of life! ( A nice Hulettism for the holidays!)… ‘
