The MHS Science Olympiad Team took 2nd Place Saturday out of 59 teams only losing to a Pennsylvania team that qualified for Nationals last year! The 17/18 MHS Science Olympiad team will no doubt be one of our highest performing teams as they look to get back to the National Tournament this year after winning state three consecutive years before last year. The Boys Swim Team placed in the middle of the pack at Chippewa Falls over the weekend with most swimmers posting PR’s. They followed the weekend competition with a trip to Superior where they continued to swim well. The High School was packed all weekend with either the Holiday Classic Dance competition on Saturday or the Red Cedar recital on Sunday. It’s always great to have our wonderful facilities used so often by more than high school students and families. All are welcome! The Dunn County Truancy Committee met with many agencies in attendance. We are very fortunate to have so many partners in the community to assistance families, students and the schools to help encourage good school attendance. The Boys Hockey Team played Thursday night after starting the year with several wins to celebrate Senior Night. The Girls Hockey Team plays Friday Night Home as does the Boys Basketball Team where Dance will also perform as well as the MHS Pep Band. Stop out to support one of our teams or performing groups. Several students were surprised by a nice note from Congressman Ron Kind for a creation sent to his DC office from our student run Mustang Manufacturing business. The ornaments on sale in the main office on the tree are another creation from this student school business. I was excited to see Officer James Gates presenting in the community. Officer Gates graduated a few years ago from MHS and has followed up his high school career now serving our community in other ways.
Cool Picture of Vue Vang after receiving the Onion Rings that he wanted. This is in reference to my comments during the staff meeting.
