MHS 10/27/17 Staff Update

The Mustang Football Team advanced to the second round of the playoffs in front of a packed crowd Friday Night.  The Cross Country Teams competed at home Saturday in the Sectional Championships.  The Girls and Boys Cross Country teams competed against sometimes Division 1 college-level competition and advanced no one to state ending a successful season for both teams.  Senior Kelsey Leach orchestrated her GEAC project Connecting Cultures through Cuisine Saturday evening to a nice crowd with presentations, music, and wonderful food from many different ethnic groups.  The counseling department worked with UW-Stout to present a financial aid night for Seniors on Monday.  The Jazz Band performed their ‘Songs of the Century Concert’ at the Mabel Tainter Tuesday with music from Bruno Mars, Guns and Roses, and Paul McCartney.  We added 4 large screen TV’s to the commons this past week which will soon be serving as digital signage in the high school.  The MHS Choir performed wonderfully several songs from all of the choral groups at MHS on Thursday.  We held the annual academic awards assembly on Thursday honoring students achieving at the highest level at MHS.  It’s the largest academic award group that we’ve had in a number of years.  We conducted our monthly safety drill with Drug Dogs on loan from several local law enforcement agencies.  I was able to meet with two amazing groups of veterans in preparation for the Veterans Day Assembly tentatively scheduled for 11/10/17.
